Oleksii Goncharenko is a member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the President of the Committee on Migration, Refugees and Displaced Persons at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
In June 2024, MP Oleksii Goncharenko, together with his colleagues from the Parliament — who are also part of the Forum’s Advisory Board — initiated the first edition of the Black Sea Security Forum that took place in Odesa, Ukraine. The Forum became the first large political event held in the city since the full-scale invasion in February 2022 and brought together over 350 participants from more than 20 countries to discuss the strategic importance of the Black Sea region for Europe and the world.
